Conocarpus erectus<\/strong> also known as Buttonwood\u00a0\u00a0is 35\u00a0ft (11\u00a0m) tall, has a spread of 70\u00a0ft (21\u00a0m), and a circumference of 207\u00a0in (530\u00a0cm).\u00a0The bark is thick and has broad plates of thin scales which are gray to brown. The twigs are brittle, and angled or narrowly winged in cross-section.
